Whether you're enjoying a session in the home gym, local park or somewhere a little more commercial; make sure you're wearing one of these.
As Edinburgh braces itself for this weekend’s protest against poverty (in Africa, not here), I set about doing a spot of band benching. The heat was draining, and I decided to leave the scheduled tricep work until the cool of the evening.
In the meantime, here’s a brief video (2MB, .wmv) showing my current band setup for the bench press.
Warmup: pushups
Bench press 2×20@40kg, 8×3@30kg+doubled blue bands (IronWoody)

i know the angle exaggerates it but it still looks like the bands kick in too late scott. there should be minimal (but some) tension at the lowest point of bar travel…
(I made the same mistake last bench session with the bands kicking in about 4inches off my chest)

Yep, there was definitely needs to be a bigger range of tension than I had today - it was hard to control the bar with it kicking in so late.
I can either double a lighter band, or hook the bands over a couple of heavy dumbells instead of the pins.
