A couple of days ago my PC’s power supply suddenly got tired of living, taking with it a harddrive and making the cable modem a bit shaky in the process. Replacements have been purchased, installed and the rebuilding has commenced. No great amount of data loss (I’m a little more careful with backups after the last time I was in this position); just the fun of installing every patch Microsoft has released in the past couple of years. For XP, that’s a lot.
