Whether you're enjoying a session in the home gym, local park or somewhere a little more commercial; make sure you're wearing one of these.
Just when I thought it was safe to return to regular workouts, my body informed me otherwise. Last week’s flu ‘thingy’ is still making its presence felt. I’m really not looking forward to jumping on the scales again - this is meant to be a weight gain not a weight loss phase :)
Today’s workout was accordingly kept short, although there was a little more volume than in recent sessions. I decided to include some very light rack-pulls (of the snatch-grip variety), just to see if they have any impact on recovery time. I suspect they were light enough to avoid anything serious.
Dimel deadlift 4×10@60/135
RDL 2×20@55/121
Rack pull (snatch-grip) 2×20@60/135
Waiter’s bow 4×20@10/22

Good to see you getting back up in volume. Thanks for the help earlier on the video analysis.

A bit of volume is always nice. And looking forward to seeing a few vids. Nice camera?

seems a decent workout considering. what exactly is going on recovering?

John, recovery at the moment is more from illness than from the workouts. I can certainly feel the effects of yesterday’s session, but no more than usual. If anything, I’ll add a few more high-rep sets of light deadlifts (at least rack pulls) - they seem great for endurance.

Just keep up the healthy eating, resting, and some vitamins and you should get past it. That workout at least looked energizing. What are you doing to recover from this, and do they have flu shots where you are?

Plenty of healthy eating and resting happening, although I’m trying not to change my normal routines too much. I’m not actually taking any medication (I very rarely do) - just trying to get rid of it naturally.

Eat, drink, extra rest and working out should get you better quickly. Then you can worry about adding bodyweight. Don’t even step on the scale until a week or so after you’re 100%.
