After having a rather heated argument with a good friend (who also happens to be my flatmate) on Saturday, we’ve been avoiding each other ever since. With this situation firmly in mind it was off to the garage for an early morning workout.
Before starting, I dropped a 10kg/22lb plate on my foot. If you’ve never tried this, don’t. It hurts.
After a few light warmup sets I almost repeated the plate-dropping thing with a 20kg/44lb one. Time to call it a day whilst I’m still relatively intact - at least until I can get my head sorted out.

I’ve had a 45/20.4 plate fall on my foot(it fell over) and man does it ever hurt, I was lucky that all I got was a good bruise.

I managed to drop this one from about chest height. I was stripping the bar and grabbed a 20, not noticing that the 10 was next to it. The plate was still vertical when it landed, and I’ve got a pair of parallel lines to show for it :)

Sheesh! That sounds nasty. I am now afraid to load 50 kg plates on the bar. Hope it doesn’t develop into a nasty case of platophobia.

I’m placing the blame squarely on my mind being elsewhere, so there’s little chance of platophobia developing.
Right now it only hurts when it’s supporting any weight, so I’m trying not to stand much. I briefly considered walking down the road to the doctor (mainly to see if anything’s actually broken), but I suspect the walking would do more damage than it’s worth.
Incidentally, I noticed the double-posted comments : not sure why the site’s so slow at the moment, but am certainly aware of it.

That could have done a lot more damage from chest height. Pounding the weights is a good way to let off frustration. Unless they’re pounding you:(
