Strongman Phil Pfister hit the headlines a couple of months ago when he took the title of World’s Strongest Man; the first American to do so in over 20 years. This morning I stumbled across his site (via the Diesel Crew’s Jedd Johnson), which contains some great photographs of the big guy.

Are you sure it’s been 30 years? I thought Bill Kaz won back in the 80’s and he’s American.

You’re right: Kaz won it in ‘82 from memory. It just seems like a long time :)

Was a long time ago, but I think we are going to see more americans in the top. Lots of americans putting up some big weights.

phil pfister in the sanya, china wsm contest 2006 will be aired in its entireity on espn-2 saturday 12-23 at 6:30-12 Midnight. this is the first footage shown of the 2006 competetion.
