Speed of descent when squatting

Powerlifting Watch points to an interesting conversation on the speed of descent when squatting. Does the gear make a difference?

Ready to bend some steel? Grab a copy of the Diesel Crew's Bending eBook. Superb.

Absolutely today’s gear makes a huge difference in speed of decent. If you don’t control yor decent, often the gear will fold you over forward and drive your knees in, both of which will cause you to miss the lift.
Controlled decent, hit depth, explode to lockout.
