Via Conditioning Research : EurekAlert notes another very interesting snippet from the current research on fats : the number of fat cells in a person’s body is established during teen years; remaining constant thereafter. Changes in fat mass are due to changes in fat cell volume, rather than a growth/decline in the number of cells. Definitely something to think about.
I believe you can still create NEW fat cells, however.
Yet another reason to stay lean and mean, like we needed another!

I’ve often wondered about that. I’m keen to see the results of this study; which I believe will be in Nature shortly.
