First time here? Welcome.
Instructional Video Competition
share it: stumbleupon | del.icio.us (what are these?)

What to do
Grab a video camera, and record yourself (or a friend) demonstrating a fitness-related training technique. This can be anything at all - show people how to perform a deadlift on blocks, how to execute the perfect Kong Vault or how to do a Goblet Squat with a kettlebell. Anything you like.
Upload the video to YouTube* and leave a comment here telling us where it is.
* I picked YouTube simply as it’s the first video-sharing site most people think of. If you don’t already have an account here, it’s quick and painless (not to mention free) to set one up.
Deadline
The competition begins immediately, and will run up until the end of August (if you’re a last minute kinda guy/gal, that’s midnight GMT on Aug 31, 2008).
UPDATE : I’ve received a number of emails asking if this can be extended a little. The competition will now run until Sep 30, 2008.
You choose the winner
At the end of September, we’ll list all the entries - together with the number of views they’ve received. You’ll be asked to nominate your favourite; simply by leaving a comment.

Ready to bend some steel? Grab a copy of the Diesel Crew's Bending eBook. Superb.
The prizes
Now, the good part : think of a fitness or strength-training journal you’d love to have, and which is available for sale online (such as MILO, or the CrossFit Journal). The winner will receive a 24 month subscription to the journal of their choice.
Additionally, the person whose video received the most views will win a 12 month subscription to their favourite fitness journal.
Bonus : if the winner happens to be wearing a Straight to the Bar t-shirt in the video, they’ll receive a $200 (USD) cash prize in addition to the subscription. Not bad at all.
I’m really looking forward to seeing the entries for this one. Let the games begin.

Hi Scott,
This is a video about my one in a million weight loss story. I used to weigh over 340 lbs. I lost 164 lbs through diet, exercise, and a good dose of kettlebell strength and conditioning. I changed my life and became a Russian Kettlebell fitness instructor. If you know someone looking for inspiration, have them watch this training montage.

Scott, here’s a link to my video on the kettlebell snatch ‘drop and catch’ technique. When properly performed it puts an end to blisters and tears when snatching, even for sets into the hundreds. This is the technique I used to get through the RKC without a single tear.

Alright, I dont want to flood the contest, so here is my last one, the different varieties of Tricep Dips. I wasn’t big into dipping until I found some new varieties through experimenting (and a few falls!)
