Book fair

This past weekend a nearby school held a book fair - an annual fundraising event and a great opportunity to stock up. For readers and booksellers alike.
If time permits, there are two times I like to go to any market; just after it opens and just before it closes. Judging by the crowds at these times, I’m quite sure I’m not the only one with this idea.
Walking in - in fact the act of walking in to any bookstore - gives me the feeling of a reformed alcoholic revisiting his favourite pub. ‘Just one’ he utters; a sinister smile on his face.
On the first day, with the room filled with local booksellers keen to stock up, I managed to limit myself to one (a bit of 19th century poetry which always seems to end up on my shelves). On the second day, with prices definitely in the ‘reduced to clear’ range, I walked out with a dozen volumes for $10. Not bad, considering.
Now I just need to find somewhere to put them.
